The Rosses Credit Union Limited is a progressive, member-focused, community Credit Union whose primary aim is to provide financial services that meet the needs of our growing membership.
The credit union is inviting applications for the role of Credit Officer/Member Services Officer, on a full-term, permanent basis.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Credit Officer/Member Services Officer will be responsible for providing an excellent standard of service to members of The Rosses Credit Union and will be required to complete a range of administrative, supportive, and operational activities within authorised limits that contribute to the effective running of the credit union. These activities include responsibility for loan applications as well as for member services where required, and general office duties. The role will also involve working in other areas of the business, including credit control, business development, anti-money laundering, and data protection compliance.
The successful candidate will:
- Be committed to achieving high standards and approach daily tasks with energy, engagement, and enthusiasm
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills, including good telephone skills with excellent written and verbal English.
- Be flexible and willing to work in various areas of the business.
- Maintain accurate, concise records in line with relevant data policies/procedures aligned to regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Possess excellent administration & IT skills and have experience of using MS Office to produce monthly reports as required.
- Have prior experience working in a public facing role within a credit union or similar financial services institution (this would be an advantage but not essential).
- Hold QFA/APA qualifications or equivalent desirable, or willingness to work towards same to achieve minimum competence requirements, as set by the Central Bank of Ireland for the credit union sector, and other relevant training required.
- Participate in periodic project work in support of wider objectives across the credit union.
- Ensure compliance with existing and new systems & controls, and policies & procedures.
- Have the ability to use discretion and sensitivity in dealing with members.
- Have the ability to work as part of a small team while at the same time demonstrating initiative.
The role holder will be required to satisfy the minimum competency requirements and meet the required Fitness and Probity Standards as set out by the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Regime for credit unions.
